Understanding the Issue:
Baby skin is soft, sensitive, and moist. Prolonged wear, inappropriate size (too large or too small), dirty socks, chemical irritants from unclean laundry detergent, physical movement due to baby's growth stage or sleep habits, and moisture accumulation due to lack of breathability can all lead to skin abnormalities such as indentations, pressure marks, red marks, local abrasions, and even blisters at the site where the sock is worn.
Examples and Causes:
1. Indentations:
Baby skin is soft and moist. If the sock is worn too tightly or the foot is continuously compressed for a long time (such as wearing another sock on top or sleeping with the foot facing down), the skin at the sensor location may not breathe, forming an indentation after a night's wear. These indentations usually disappear within 30 minutes after removing the sock, so there is no need to worry.
2. Pressure Marks:
Similar to the red lines we get from wearing socks, the edges of the sock around the ankle may leave pressure marks, which usually disappear quickly. If this happens, adjust the sock's position and choose the right size and tightness. Ensure the Velcro is aligned, and the sock is smooth and fits the foot.
3. Red Marks:
If the baby's environment is warm, or if they are covered with a thick blanket, their feet may sweat and heat up after prolonged wear. Since the sensor component does not absorb moisture, the double-layer fabric area where the sensor fabric overlaps with the sock fabric may have weak breathability, causing localized redness similar to diaper rash. If your child sweats or has wet feet while sleeping, we recommend ensuring a comfortable sleep temperature and limiting the time they wear the sock.
4. Abrasions or Blisters:
If your baby moves a lot due to growth or simply likes to move while sleeping, continuous friction can cause local abrasions or develop into blisters. If this happens, we recommend switching to the other foot and not putting the sock back on that side until the mark disappears. Apply Vaseline or skincare products multiple times during the day to help the skin heal and recover quickly.

From the initial product design, we considered keeping the sock's surface temperature close to skin temperature to avoid discomfort. After consulting with pediatricians and conducting investigations, we can confirm that these are not electrical or thermal burns.

1. Check the Fit and Sock Size:
Choosing the right sock size and the correct way to wear it is crucial. Babies grow quickly, and their feet gradually get bigger and rounder. Therefore, when wearing the sock, choose the right size, adjust the sock's position and tightness, ensure the Velcro is aligned, and the sock is smooth and fits the foot. We provide three different sock sizes to cover babies up to 30 lbs.

2. Keep the Sock and Sensor Clean:
Just like regular clothes need to be washed regularly, we recommend washing the fabric sock and sensor at least every 1-2 weeks. You can separate the sock sensor and the bandage part to wash them individually.
3. Keep Feet Clean and Dry:
We recommend putting the sock on clean, dry feet and not using any medicated creams or lotions. Since our sock does not absorb moisture like other socks due to the sensor component, accumulated moisture can irritate your child's skin, similar to diaper rash. If your child sweats or has wet feet while sleeping, we recommend ensuring a comfortable sleep temperature (lower sleepwear temperature, having a fan in the room, etc.) and limiting the time they wear the Smart Sock.
4. Control Wear Time, Alternate Between Feet:
If your baby seems uncomfortable due to teething, colic, or just likes to move, continuous movement can cause enough friction to create hot spots on their feet. If the skin is stimulated enough, these hot spots can quickly develop into blisters. This is like someone wearing a new pair of shoes that do not fit their feet, causing repeated friction and irritation. In this case, controlling the time your baby wears the sock or alternating between left and right feet can effectively relieve the friction on the same part and allow the skin to recover effectively if it is slightly damaged.
5. Use Only on Feet with Healthy Skin:
If marks appear, the skin needs time to heal. Do not put the sock back on that foot until the mark disappears. Help support healing skin by applying a barrier cream containing Vaseline or equivalent multiple times during the day. Once the mark disappears, you can put the Smart Sock back on that side, ensuring the size and position are correct.
